ACTING HEAD CHEF – FIXED TERM (LEAVE COVER) | Glastonburys Bar and Kitchen

Glastonbury’s Bar and Kitchen is seeking an experienced Acting Head Chef to lead our kitchen team during a period of planned leave coverage.

This is a fixed-term opportunity suited to a confident, hands-on chef with strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain high standards in a busy hospitality environment.

About the Role :

Reporting to the venue management team, the Acting Head Chef will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supervising kitchen operations and staff
  • Service management across lunch, dinner, and functions as required
  • Menu execution and consistency across all meals
  • Stock ordering, food cost control, and waste management
  • Maintaining HACCP, Food Safety, and workplace hygiene standards
  • Managing prep, production, and service planning
  • Supporting a positive team culture and training where required

About You:

To be successful you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef / Sous Chef / Senior CDP in a similar role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High-level food safety knowledge and compliance focus
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage service pressure
  • Experience managing rosters, ordering, and kitchen systems (preferred)
  • A strong work ethic and pride in presentation and standards
